Multi screen video installation, Kinshasa, capitale du tout-Monde“ [Kinshasa, Capital of the whole-World] by Valérie Osouf in collaboration with young visual artist Bryan Batupé and rapper Cromix Onana, inspired by a concept of caribbean writer and philosopher Édouard Glissant. According to Édouard Glissant's concept of the whole-World [tout-Monde], every aspect of the world refers to a vast whole where differences, correspondences and contradictions respond to each other in a process of constant relationship. Everything is in motion, nothing stands still and nothing is closed. The relationship between things and beings is the dynamic principle and the place we inhabit refers to all that exists. Hence, the world contains each place and each place contains the world. Documentary filmmaker and artist Valérie Osouf examines this concept in Kinshasa, where, to resist the harshness and injustice of everyday life, some people and neighborhoods deport their identity and imaginaries elsewhere : “Paris", "China“, "Arab World“… In the Tout-monde, there's a shortcut leading directly from Guangzhou to Bamako.
